WTF - Man Caught as the Florida Foot Sniffer

This is an actual news story.  Want to learn more about the foot sniffer?

Then click HERE

A foot sniffer.  No really, he was caught sniffing feet?

*Disclaimer: I am also guilty of foot sniffing. Sometimes when I put on fresh socks I sniff my feet because they smell so good. I am also guilty of gauging how bad my feet smell when I take off my shoes with a casual sniff.  I am in no way a professional foot sniffer, or criminal foot sniffer.

"A man was caught crawling under the table sniffing a female's feet...."

I can only imagine:

"Carol, what's that noise?"

Gale, "Is that sniffing?"

Carol looks to Gayle, "Are you sniffing me?"

Gayle, "No, I thought you were sniffing me? I put on deodorant."

Carol, "I'm not sniffing anything."

Gayle, "Me neither.  Wait, who's the dude under our library table?"

He's lucky these girls had great hygiene practices because if this poor soul sniffed my feet, he'd pass out, getting caught right away. I think my feet smell like petunias, he wouldn't be able to stand let alone get away on his scooter.

Crime Stoppers put out a bulletin warning students of FIU of a person "crawling underneath a tables in a suspicious manner." Obviously, this man did not drop his pencil. How would you define a "suspicious" manner?

Also, did anyone notice that he ran off on a scooter? Possibly a liquor cycle? Hence the foot sniffing? How long did it take the police catching him on a SCOOTER?

Policeman, "Earle, there's so many people on scooters out here, which one is the sniffer?"

Partner, "That one, on the red scooter, he looks like a foot sniffer to me."

If you look at his mug shot, clearly he looks like a scooter riding, foot sniffing derelict.

Of course it took the helicopter, Sky 10 to chronicle the epic chase of the foot sniffer on the scooter.

Only in Florida, my friends.  Only in Florida.

WTF - You Can't Make This UP

Here's a REAL News story.  Seriously.

The Real Deal.

Found on a popular news site.

Woman Gives Birth To A Lizard.

Click Woman Gives Birth To A Lizard

There's an angry mob looking for the poor 31 year old, and scientists are saying she had a phantom pregnancy.  They're saying that the poor lizard was just going for a walk when a woman accidentally gave birth on him and lo and behold he's got a new Momma.

But it got me thinking.

I remember when our first son was born.  Both of us getting a look at that baby for the first time and thinking, "What the....."

He could have been misinterpreted as a lizard.  He had a long chisel shaped head, goo all over him, not exactly the births I'd watched on TV where they put this beautiful clean baby on the mother who has all of her makeup on, not sweating from pushing a basketball out, in a nightie, looking at her man with total love in her eyes as she holds the youngun for the first time.

Sure we were elated with the addition to our family, but had someone not known they could have mistaken him for a little alien or even, yes, a lizard.

So before you stone that poor women, remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that a mother loves her child no matter what.

A friend once said to me, looking at my baby, "You know, why is it that beautiful celebrities have such ugly babies?  Why, your child is just gorgeous!"

What?

Man oh man

One of the leading news stories this morning was about a bill introduced to outlaw words with the word "man" in it. So colleges cannot call their incoming students "freshmen."

Seriously?

So what are they, fresh people, or fresh crowd, or fresh human beings? Or we just go with the obvious, "students."

In this city do they have police people? And personholes? Do they have peopleowars washing up in the beaches?

They say that the move is to keep women from being offended by the use if the word MAN. Seriously, was anyone really worrying about this?

Here's what I picture. City councilman, I mean city council person sitting behind a very large desk, "my constitutes, don't worry our unemployment, I'm sorry, our unemploypersonent rate is 16.9%, we need to work on hiring more word police taking THE MAN out of everything."

It is these things that not just make you sigh, but make you slap your head saying,"MAN oh MAN". Oh, I'm sorry, "PERSON oh PERSON."

Cool or Cruel?

I just read an article about a "pastor" who wrote a note on a receipt that said, "I give God 10%, why should I give you 18%"  The article explained that the pastor was part of a group of 20 people and that the waiter at the restaurant had already added a tip of 18% to the bill with an another line for "additional tip."  The "pastor" then put a 0 in the line for additional tip.

Leading with this caused several different questions to come to mind, made me wonder did we get the whole story?

He added 18%.  In my book if a waiter decides that he/she is going to automatically add the tip, then they add what they get.  If they take the chance and don't add the tip, then usually I am generous.  Do systems now automatically add in a tip with groups over 6 people?  Or did the waiter have the choice to add the tip or not add the tip?

Since when do we automatically add 18%?  Traditionally, 15% was automatically added to large parties, with the notion that if the service was good another 3% was added, if the service was excellent another 5% was added.  Why are we automatically rewarding possible mediocre service with a "good" tip?  If you choose to work for a living as a server, then your tip should reflect your work ethic, if you know you are doing a great job, leave the tip blank.

Since when is a tip ever guaranteed?  TIP - to insure prompt service.  Just like everything else we're guaranteed to win even if we don't put in the work.

Scribbling on receipts has become a trend, where people can still remain anonymous and voice their opinion without any repercussions.  Just like posting comments on the internet.  This pastor probably didn't realize that his scribbled receipt would become a news story.  Makes you wonder if the leading part of the story is that he a pastor that gives 10% to God or that he didn't tip the waiter.

So what are your thoughts?  Should tip be automatically included?  Should it now automatically be 18% when it used to be 15%?  Do you give your 10% to God - do you do it as willingly as you tip the waiter for service?

By the way, another big lesson learned - there's always people watching, whatever you do may end up on the Internet.  Think twice before you react.
